In fact, in addition to the efficiency factor and service factor of the motor itself, there are other power consumption in the unit, such as cooling fans, frequency converters Etc., for example, for an air compressor with a nominal power of 37kw, the actual input power of the entire unit is about 45kw (different manufacturers). Therefore, the specific power of the whole machine should be calculated by the input power of the whole machine, not by the nominal power (shaft power) of the motor.

Air compressors with the same power nameplate from different manufacturers are not because the larger the exhaust volume of a manufacturer's nameplate, the lower the specific power, or the lower the nominal power of a manufacturer's nameplate, the better.
